Andrea G. Barthwell, MD, FASAM

Andrea G. Barthwell, MD, FASAM

Director & Founder

An internationally renowned physician and pioneer in addiction medicine, Dr. Barthwell is a past president of the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM), holds Fellow status, and is certified by the American Board of Addiction Medicine. She has been widely regarded by her peers as one of the "Best Doctors in America" in addiction medicine.

Her career has combined research and practice with government policy work — serving as Deputy Director for Demand Reduction at the Office of National Drug Control Policy under President George W. Bush — before conceiving and developing Two Dreams. She is the Founder and CEO of the Two Dreams facilities.

David Barthwell, MD

David Barthwell, MD

Psychiatrist

A board-certified psychiatrist who spent eight years as a full-time psychiatrist at the Edward Hines VA Medical Center, where he served as Medical Director of Substance Abuse Services. He holds a Drug Addiction Treatment Act waiver allowing him to prescribe Suboxone (buprenorphine) to treat opioid addiction.

Dr. Barthwell earned his BS in Biology from Trinity College and his MD from the University of Michigan Medical School, completing his psychiatry residency — and serving as Chief Resident — at Michael Reese Hospital and Medical Center.

David T. Barthwell

David T. Barthwell

Chief Technology Officer

David is responsible for managing the Two Dreams website, designing and maintaining the Two Dreams brand, and developing a progressive technical and security strategy for the organization.

He studied art at Yale University, graduating with honors and distinction in the major — his work is strongly influenced by classical fine arts training in drawing, painting, photography, color, and composition.

Brett Dunning

Clinical Director

Brett specializes in facilitating the twelve steps in a manner that easily assimilates clients into 12-step recovery communities. His own experience with chemical dependency, paired with cognitive behavioral techniques, helps clients who suffer from relapse reduce shame and guilt through education grounded in the disease model of addiction.

Brett earned his Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and his Master's Degree from the Hazelden Graduate School of Addiction Studies.

Mary M. Kennon

Recovery Support Specialist

Mary works with clients on a personal level regarding their recovery status — present with them throughout the day, teaching daily living skills alongside sobriety and recovery, and listening.

With nine years in her own recovery, Mary knows firsthand what it's like to have no hope and then find a way out. Prior to Two Dreams, she owned a daycare business helping young children grow and develop.

Anthony McGilberry

Anthony McGilberry

Resident Support Specialist

Anthony diligently monitors clients' safety, interacts with them positively when they're having difficulties, and provides general day-to-day assistance — with a hope of a positive influence on youth through music and mentoring.

Before Two Dreams, Anthony served in the US Army as a cannon crew member. He holds an Associate's Degree in Arts from the Axia College of the University of Phoenix.

Rosemary Mulcahey

Rosemary Mulcahey

Case Manager

Rosemary works with clients on a daily basis at the main residence, assisting them through their day-to-day routine while monitoring their safety and promoting a recovery-centered lifestyle.

She holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from California University of Pennsylvania and worked in the mental health field for several years before joining Two Dreams.

Jody Overstreet

Jody Overstreet

Resident Support Specialist, Food Program Manager

A recovering addict himself, Jody's life goal is to show others there is always a way to recover from addiction. He finds watching people change and succeed the most gratifying part of his job.

Jody studied pharmaceutical technology at Davidson County Community College and is state-certified in the addiction field. He also volunteers with Oxford House, a nonprofit supporting others in recovery.

Steve Taylor, MAC, LCAS

Steve Taylor, MAC, LCAS

Therapist

Steve collaborates with clients and their families to reach recovery goals through individual, group, and experiential therapies. He previously worked as a master's-level addiction counselor at the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation.

He holds a bachelor's degree in Social and Behavioral Science from Linfield College and a master's from the Hazelden Betty Ford Graduate School of Addiction Studies. Steve is most often described as compassionate, a good listener, and even-keeled.
