Our Unique Model

The 3-7-3 Model.

A holistic framework that carries each client through three phases of treatment, guided by seven dimensions of wellness, toward three lasting outcomes of recovery.

The Three Phases

A naturally occurring progression through early treatment and recovery.

They are not time-limited — clients move into and out of each phase depending on the clinical factors of their treatment.

Phase One

Coming In

We help you establish safety and trust with your peers and our addiction treatment professionals. Healthy rituals are essential here — clients experience a new self-confidence that provides the foundation for the therapeutic work to follow, exploring new behaviors, awareness of thought processes, and coping skills. Honesty, and being able to tell your story, is important in this phase.

Phase Two

Looking In

Our therapeutic staff helps guide you to discover new aspects of yourself, and to honor your thoughts, feelings, and aspirations. By exposing negative core beliefs, clients begin forming a healthier sense of self — and typically experience a reduction in shame and guilt. Clients become ready for Looking Out once they can acknowledge their addiction and commit to recovery in a heartfelt manner.

Phase Three

Looking Out

Now, you are empowered. After giving you the tools to succeed, we encourage you to look outward and decide what you need to do to achieve a lifelong recovery process — managing cravings, managing relationships, and practicing newly gained skills in a supportive environment as you prepare to reintegrate into your next living environment.

The Seven Dimensions of Holistic Wellness

01Abstinence

Not only clearing alcohol or drugs from the body, but eliminating the negative thoughts, codependent behaviors, self-defeating communication styles, and other individual issues that hold people back from their highest self.

02Peer Support

The community milieu is a crucial part of the treatment experience. Healthy bonding and accountability to others who understand is vital to working through issues that keep people stuck in unhealthy patterns.

03Professional Guidance

One of the most important aspects of treatment at Two Dreams. Our staff of passionate, dedicated professionals — many of whom have overcome their own challenges — bring both clinical training and lived experience to every client's care.

04Medication Review

A review of past and current medications by our Medical Director, ensuring that what's prescribed is still needed, effective, and free of concerning interactions — with guidance available throughout the treatment episode.

05Nutrition

Clients start their day with a smoothie that awakens the body in a healthy, natural manner, followed by three balanced meals and two snacks daily. CEO Dr. Andrea Barthwell developed the food program for individuals in early recovery — consistent, healthy intake supports homeostasis in the brain and helps heal the proper firing of neurons and synapses.

06Exercise

Healthy neurological activity for the early stages of recovery from chemical dependence. Empirical evidence suggests a healthy exercise routine can be as effective as anti-depressant medication in battling shame, guilt, and depressive symptoms, and is a proven way to reduce anxiety.

07Ritual (12-Step Component)

Rituals and structure give clients the ability to gain self-confidence and self-respect. Clients begin each day with a "sun salutation" at the beach; insight gained in group therapy, individual therapy, and 12-Step meetings fosters a new sense of self correlated with a healthy recovery identity.

The Three Outcomes

01Mental Peace

Addiction no longer governs the client's feelings, thoughts, or behaviors. New tools discovered through the three phases of treatment replace feelings of self-doubt, insecurity, and fear — the client is finally able to exhale and enjoy the present.

02Physical Well-being

Two Dreams supports the mind-body connection. Addiction is a brain disease, and the therapeutic work done across the three phases and seven dimensions of treatment leaves clients feeling physically fit, with the means to support a healthy, balanced lifestyle.

03Personal Productivity

Two Dreams recognizes that recovery is continual growth. Along the way, our professionals help clients acknowledge the strengths they can utilize to live to their potential in recovery — and to accept those strengths without self-doubt skewing their self-perspective.
